A sparkling protein water packed with 20 grams of the most effective part of whey protein. Designed for better recovery with a taste you’ll actually crave after a workout.
No protein presence: Crisp, light and refreshing – free from any protein taste, texture or mouthfeel.
Lightly carbonated: A balanced carbonation level for a soda-like drinking experience - not overly gassy.
We conducted a sensory panel study with 240 athletes from a wide range of sports. The TWOZERO® drink, containing pure Beta-Lactoglobulin (BLG), was compared to a protein drink with an identical formulation but with traditional clear whey isolate (WPI) as protein source. Thus, both drinks contained 20g of protein, with the protein type being the only variable.
The study showed a significant difference in how participants experienced the drinks. The TWOZERO® drink was rated as having less typical whey flavor, minimal to no dry mouthfeel and a clearly reduced protein aftertaste compared to the protein water containing traditional whey isolate.
100 male and female athletes, from amateur to elite level, practicing various endurance and strength sports.
Assessments were conducted individually, in randomized order, and under controlled conditions. A single-blind design ensured that participants were unaware of the protein source. Water was provided between tastings to neutralize the palate. Sensory attributes were evaluated using a standardized 12-point scale.
Investigate differences in sensory attributes between protein water drinks containing traditional clear whey protein and those containing pure Beta-Lactoglobulin.
Higher in essential amino acids: Complete amino acid profile with 40% more BCAAs compared to standard whey.
Optimized performance: Especially rich in leucine content which triggers muscle protein synthesis (MPS).
Before we dive into Beta-Lactoglobulin (BLG), the protein used in TWOZERO®, let’s first cover the basics.
Protein one of the body’s most important components. It helps build and repair muscles, skin and other tissues, and supports the production of enzymes and hormones that keep your body functioning properly. You can get protein from everyday foods like meat, fish and dairy, but also from protein supplements such as whey or pea.
Proteins are made up of amino acids, there are 20 different amino acids. Each amino acid plays a unique role in the body: some stimulate muscle protein synthesis — the key process for building new muscle tissue — while others support energy production during exercise or help regulate blood sugar. Amino acids are grouped into two categories: essential and non-essential.
These 9 amino acids cannot be produced by your body and must come from food or supplements.
Amino acids: Lysine, Methionine, Threonine, Phenylalanine, Tryptophan, Histidine, Leucine*, Isoleucine*, Valine*
These 11 amino acids are produced naturally by the body and therefore are not required from diet.
Amino acids: Alanine, Glutamic, Glycine, Asparagine, Serine, Proline, Glutamine, Arginine, Glutamine, Cysteine, Tyrosine, Aspartic acid
* These are branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), a special subset of EAAs that play a key role in muscle recovery and growth.
Whey protein is the most used and trusted protein supplement worldwide. This is because whey protein has a complete amino acid profile and, unlike other proteins, contains a high amount of essential amino acids.
A protein source is called complete when it contains all 9 essential amino acids in sufficient amounts. While whey is a complete protein, many plant-based protein supplements, such as pea protein, are not.
Unlike what many people think, whey protein is not a single protein. It is actually a blend of several proteins, known as protein fractions.
Each fraction has a unique amino acid profile, which means that the proportion of individual amino acids — essential and non-essential — differs between fractions.
While standard whey contains a mix of protein fractions, TWOZERO® uses only Beta-Lactoglobulin (BLG).
The reason we focus on this single protein fraction is simple: BLG stands out with its unmatched amino acid profile. It contains far more essential amino acids and BCAAs than any other protein fraction. By isolating BLG, whey protein reaches its purest and most potent form: pure BLG.
When comparing BLG to standard whey, this is how the amino acid profiles differ:
Leucine is one of the BCAAs and plays a key role in kickstarting muscle protein synthesis (MPS), the body’s process for repairing and building muscle after exercise. It is the most important amino acid for optimal muscle recovery and growth.
Traditional whey protein typically contains around 10.9% leucine. By comparison, BLG contains 15.8% leucine by weight, providing 45% more leucine per gram of protein.
This results in 3.2g of leucine per can of TWOZERO®, whereas a traditional protein shake with 20g of standard whey provides only 2.2g of leucine.
This matters because scientific studies show that about 3 grams of leucine are required to maximally stimulate muscle protein synthesis (MPS). If this threshold is not reached within a 1–2 hour window after consuming protein, MPS is only partially activated or may not be activated at all.
Leucine acts as the on-switch for muscle growth. Only when there is enough leucine in your blood — so when the leucine threshold is met — does your body receive the signal to activate muscle protein synthesis (MPS). This is the process where your body repairs and builds muscle.

BLG is the most potent protein on the market — free from lactose, fat, and any unwanted extras. By using pure BLG as protein source, we designed a clean, smooth protein drink without the typical whey taste or texture. Just pure power.
Our pure BLG protein delivers 45% more leucine than traditional whey. This results in 3.2g of leucine per can, hitting the 3g threshold required to activate muscle protein synthesis — the process that kickstarts muscle building.
Besides its high leucine content, BLG also contains higher levels of the amino acids isoleucine and valine, delivering 40% more BCAAs than regular whey. It’s no wonder it’s called a super-concentrated muscle-building protein.
